چکیده

A portable laser-induced fluorescence system (total weight about 1.7 kg) has been developed for detecting the level of dissolved organic matter in water. The portable system consists of a high pulse repetition frequency (10-kHz) microchip laser at 405 nm, a reflective fluorescent probe and a broadband micro spectrometer. The stability and sensitivity of the new instrument were studied. The detection limit of this new instrument was 0.75 ug/L, and its baseline drift was only 0.45% per hour. Field results showed that the portable system can work as well as commercial laboratory spectrophotometers. A significant correlation (R1⁄40.96) was found between measurements taken by the new instrument and thoses measured by laboratory spectrophotometer. In addtion, influence of temperature variation on measurements by the new instrument was investigated. The portable system is promising for monitoring dissolved organic matter in water, especially in the field. & 2014 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Fluorescence Spectroscopy as a Potential Tool for In-Situ Monitoring of Dissolved Organic Matter in Surface Water Systems

Water is a common substance, yet life cannot exist without it, being the major component of all living things. Considering the tremendous impact water has on life health, it is always an imperative task to study its quality. During the past decades, more advanced techniques were developed not only to generally characterise the water quality, but also to analyse DOM fractions. Organic matter is ...

The Potential Applications of Real-Time Monitoring of Water Quality in a Large Shallow Lake (Lake Taihu, China) Using a Chromophoric Dissolved Organic Matter Fluorescence Sensor

This study presents results from field surveys performed over various seasons in a large, eutrophic, shallow lake (Lake Taihu, China) using an in situ chromophoric dissolved organic matter (CDOM) fluorescence sensor as a surrogate for other water quality parameters. These measurements identified highly significant empirical relationships between CDOM concentration measured using the in situ flu...

Synchronous fluorescence spectra of dissolved organic matter (DOM) of algal origin in marine coastal waters

Naturally occurring dissolved organic matter [DOM) was investigated in a lagoonal system with the aim to study the origin and mixing of the Doh4 components. Water samples were collected in the Sacca di Goro lagoon (PO river delta, Italy) and analysed by means of different techniques, such as fluorescence, absorpt~on and dissolved organic carbon (DOC) measurements. Synchronous fluorescence spect...
